one week intro - fine furniture making course

“An amazing fine furniture course of a world class standard. Learn from the masters of fine British craftmanship. High quality facilities, excellent teaching, friendly atmosphere in beautiful surroundings. I highly recommend this course for anyone interested in being the best.”   Tyrone Probert

This course is designed for potential designer makers who have little or no practical skills, but plenty of enthusiasm. You will be encouraged to understand the possibilities available to you in fine furniture making. With an insight into Williams and Cleal and the industry you will be awakened to your own potential. You will not only learn how to use tools to a professional standard but you will also use them to produce a small project to take home.

With a maximum of 8 students we are able to work very closely with you to meet your individual needs. In addition to being an excellent way of gaining invaluable skills, this short course can be also used as a taster experience for our full time provision. If you should then wish to sign up for our full time programme, we will offset the cost of your one week against the long course fee.

We provide all tools, but if you prefer to bring your own, we will show you how to maintain and use your tools to get the very best performance and finish from them. All materials for your project are included in the cost of the course.

We attract students of all ages and backgrounds, from complete beginners, hobbyists to more experienced woodworkers – who would like a refresher on the basics. Our one week course has received 5 star reviews from our previous students:

“I did the one week course at Williams and Cleal and loved the experience. Welcoming atmosphere, first class facilities and great location. The approachable staff had a wealth of knowledge which they were happy to share! Would definitely recommend.” Tom Randle
