We are a friendly, highly regarded furniture school, offering part time and full time courses within a supportive and creative environment. Our small team of experienced staff works closely with a vibrant community of students who are passionate about learning. Based in our idyllic workshops in Somerset, we have a vacancy for a highly skilled, Fine Furniture Tutor to join our team. This role involves teaching students the skills and techniques required to design and build high-quality fine furniture.

Key Requirements
Commercial experience in furniture-making.
Teaching experience is preferred, but not mandatory. However, a genuine passion for sharing knowledge & mentoring others is a must.
Strong communication skills and the ability to convey complex concepts in an understandable manner.
Patience and adaptability to cater to students with varying skill levels & learning styles.
A creative & innovative mindset, with a willingness to explore new teaching methods.
Dedication to maintaining a safe, inclusive, & supportive learning environment for all.
A flexible approach, excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, and a willingness to take full responsibility for a cohort of students.
The ability to engage and develop students.
Key Responsibilities
Instruct and guide students through various woodworking techniques, tools, and processes, to a high level of skill and craftsmanship.
Develop and teach full time and part time students predominately in our workshops, with some classroom based delivery.
Develop and implement lesson plans that align with the curriculum's objectives, ensuring a well-rounded educational experience.
Provide personalised feedback and constructive critique to help students improve their skills and reach their full potential.
Maintain a safe and organised workshop environment, adhering to all safety guidelines and protocols.
Collaborate with other instructors and staff to enhance the overall learning experience and contribute to the growth of the furniture-making program.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements, integrating the latest techniques and technologies into the curriculum.
Keep a photographic record of workshop/school activities for the school website, newsletter, Instagram and social media accounts.
Undertake additional general duties related to supporting the workshop as deemed appropriate.
Teach occasional weekend provision.
Contribute new ideas and opportunities that maintain and develop Williams & Cleal.
